Out of Body Travel - Question

Question:

I am wondering why, during 2011 in particular, my out-of-body travel is
increasing in frequency. I have been ill with Lupus and chronic pain
and while my body is in decline, my soul/spirit is getting much stronger.
I can visit old friends and lovers, see what they are doing, and sometimes
have this confirmed later. While in the Emergency Room this week
with a moderate concussion, I fell asleep and traveled to the waiting
room where my friend was waiting anxiously to be called in to see me.
I could see her entire soul/spirit....a beautiful yellow and white aura.
She is so much more than her earth-based personality. It was a wonderful
revelation.

Is it common to experience more out-of-body travel when one is sick?
Sometimes I can leave my body and look at myself sleeping in bed.

Catherine,

There is always a positive side to any form of suffering. What happens during an illness is that a crack is formed in the ego that allows darkness to escape and light to enter. As darkness exits the body, it is raised in vibration and allows one to see things that had before been concealed from consciousness. So the spiritual purpose behind an illness is for the purification of the body. I would suggest that you aren’t actually having any additional experiences of out of body travel, but that you are just becoming more aware of what you are already doing. The 17th Century Abbot and poet John Donne has written much about this spiritual connection between illness and the Divine. And the tradition of the Vision Quest, in the spiritual belief system of many indigenous cultures is to purposefully recreate the same results.

The Nature of Magic

During conscious out of body travel, the light body vibrates at a very high frequency, much closer to our soul experience when we are not incarnated into the earth. We are able to feel things normally unimaginable, and depths of connectedness and inspiration are available that cannot currently reach us in the density of the physical earth.

Then upon waking, we realize just how limited we experience our day to day life. During out of body travel, we feel vastly powerful. And when waking and returning to this dimension, we may feel a longing to return to that level of consciousness. The magic that we feel in these higher realms now becomes a seed for future growth in the earth.

It doesn’t take many of out of body experiences to realize that the physical laws in the spirit realm are different than Earth physics. Time is relative to the dimension we experiencing. In the spirit realm, we see that our power is immediately accessible. When in the earth, there is an obvious lag in our ability to create and magnetize. In spirit, we can receive a desire in an instant. Here in the earth, we may have to wait days, weeks or even years for them to manifest.

There is of course a reason for this. The earth is where we learn to develop power. Time is slowed down for us to consider what we want. Desires within us must reach a certain level of congruence before they materialize. So if congruence does not exist within our being for something we believe we want, we are not completely open to receiving. As time passes, we may look back and see why we received certain things and others didn’t arrive.

But through experience we learn what is appropriate for us, what will add to our lives and what would detract. The result is power, an inner knowing that is developed through contemplation and experience. It is a power that enables us to have balance and goodness in our lives. This learning has an energetic memory that will remain with us in future lives as well as when we return to the world of spirit.

Energetic Resonance

When initially learning conscious out of body travel, you may experience difficulty staying grounded within the dimension you are visiting. It’s not at all uncommon to be whisked away and back into unconsciousness, when might rather stay right where you are. This problem is about your energetic resonance to that dimension and the ability to stay open to the intense amount of energy that is required to flow through you when you are that conscious.

When awake in one’s daily life, there are certain physical laws that apply. The rules are obviously not the same for one’s physical body and their spiritual or light body. If we begin to emotionally close when fully awake and experiencing our daily life, we remain physically grounded to a degree. We may lose presence and find ourselves emotionally distancing ourselves from the world. But we physically remain where we are. That is not the case in an out of body experience—it’s our openness that allows us to be conscious during out of body travel. And it’s an openness that is really unimaginable to our conscious minds.

I would suggest that the emotion we can feel during an out of body experience could be 20 times greater than what we experience in our waking lives. We are more aware and can feel things that we are completely numb to in the physical realm. The slightest negative thought creates resistance for the energy flowing through your light body and initially, one’s fear might cause us to instantly lose consciousness. After more experience, we might feel ourselves being rapidly being pulled back to the location of our physical body. With more experience, we might feel our self losing the ground, but still have the time to take steps to remain in the experience, or at least to prolong it.

It’s not that we have absolute control over how long we can stay in an alternate dimension; there are predetermined plans for our visits. When we have witnessed or experienced the purpose of our visit, it’s time to go. But we may want to try and maximize our stays.

I’ve had enough travels that I know the difference between completion and my own inability to remain conscious. So when I feel it’s my own spiritual vibration that is causing the energetic disruption, I try to simplify my thinking.

There are many different things that my physically awake mind might be interested in knowing (about the experience) and in out of body travel, many of those things really don’t have significant spiritual importance. Once when visiting with my deceased father, I asked him what was his favorite food. Upon waking, I thought I should have asked him what happened to the copy of our family tree! But it is innocent thought that allows us to become resonant and conscious during out of body travel in the first place. It’s analytical and structured thinking that cause most people to remain unconscious of their out of body experiences.

So during out of body travel, you want to be one with the surrounding energy and try not to let your mind dominate. You might want to focus on your physical surroundings and limit the intensity of conversation – deeper conversations can cause more power to flow into your body and overwhelm you. If you are in a light filled dimension, those around you may pretend things are casual, but they actually know the difficulty you are facing in getting accustomed to the energy. And they are appreciative of your efforts to consciously meet them. So try to be one with the energies, beings and environment around you. That is what will hold you in an out of body experience and allow you to maximize the moment.
